Founded in 1997, ASSABIL – Friends of Public Libraries Association, receives around 35000 visitors in its 3 public libraries in Beirut. In its visual identity, the book and its pages transform into all sorts of things evoking the imaginary worlds which books provide their readers. In 2007, Assabil’s identity was expanded and refined, based on the visual feel that had grown organically from a series of previous projects that started in 1999. The identity has been conceived to allow for flexibility of applications depending on projects, budgets, time frames, partners, media, audience, etc. A Visual Identity Guidelines Book ensures coherence for future applications.
